As leaders, we aim to bring out the leadership within others. That feeling of making an positive influence in someone else’s life is like no other; even if just one person. Making people feel good about themselves is one of the most rewarding feelings that we could ever experience. It is said that others who aspire to give, without seeking anything in return, are heroes of some sort.

Motivation, perseverance and optimism have helped me through many difficult obstacles in my lifetime. However, I would not be where I am today if it were not for those who built bridges and believed in me along the way.

In most cases, to build a bridge, you only need three tools:

Dreams

Obtaining a clear vision of what we want from life allows us to help others to do the same. Having a healthy disregard for the impossible can push us to new heights, helping us achieve amazing things. Living out our dreams allows us to grasp the notion that just about anything is possible if we put our minds to it in correlation with action. 

Skills

The talents we have been birthed with are no coincidence. The knowledge we attain and skill sets that we possess can be used to grow ourselves personally and professionally; within our cozy homes or our familiar workplaces. Many have heard that old saying, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, skill or no skill. Although, this may be the easy route some choose in life, they fail to realize that change is the only constant. If we are not growing ourselves, or others, we are not growing.

Opportunity

As time passes, so does opportunity. Change often allows room for chance. Try not to just think of those who have have extended compassion and generosity within our own lives. Instead, try remembering what has been extended to us so we may do the same for those who may not ever be able to repay the efforts. Building bridges others can follow is imperative.
